The University's spring semester will have a delayed start on Feb. 1, a two-week delay from the academic calendar's initial start date of Jan. 20, Provost Liz Magill and Chief Operating Officer J.J. Davis said in a University-wide email Thursday.
Classes will end May 6, and the traditional weeklong Spring Break will be canceled to limit travel to and from Charlottesville. The University will instead implement plans for multiple shorter breaks throughout the semester.
